We widened the entry door into the bathroom from a standard opening to a size that allows wheelchair access. We added a curbless shower – meaning no threshold or transition. Therefore, the entry has an easy passageway.
The tile was a custom band format tile that we installed on the floors and the walls. Additionally, we added radiant heat under the tile floors.
We installed a lineal drain so the floor slopes to the back wall of the shower. A waterproofing crack isolation membrane was applied beneath the tile to prevent any shrinkage or movement in the substrate below from cracking the new tiles. The trim work was hand milled in our wood-shop.
