The owners envisioned an outdoor area that was inviting and cozy. They took advantage of the natural setting and did not want to compromise their view of the hillsides. The plan for this space was to keep the scenery as the perfect backdrop. The Millbrook patio is a gorgeous spot to enjoy spring and summer days outside!

The Project
We really enjoyed managing this project. The landscaping architect we worked with focused his attention on “an architectural design that would incorporate the existing landscaping.”
We also added French doors that allowed access to the patio. We installed two that are fixed and one that is active. This not only allowed for access to the outdoors but also brought more light into the house and created a larger view of the countryside.
Originally the architect had placed the circular patio on the other end of the yard. We had to move it for three reasons. First, there was an uneven drop-off. Second, it didn’t take advantage of the phenomenal view. Finally, the circular patio design allowed the existing hydrangea bushes to remain undisturbed and also provided an ideal location for the fire pit.
